Professional Support Lawyer - Private Client (part-time)

One of Exeter's top law firms is looking to hire an experienced private client lawyer to support their successful private client team, here in Exeter. This role is being offered on a part-time basis, with the idea of working 3-4 days per week, so it could be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to shorten their hours and come away from a fee-earning role. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a private client department of one of the larger law firms. Working within a non fee-earning capacity, the work will involve supporting the fee-earning team in a number of areas, mainly focusing on keeping the wider team up-to-date with knowledge, updated legislation, precedent updates and other knowledge sharing. The role will involve conducting continuous legal research and then reporting back to the team with ideas and knowledge. Working as part of the firm's Knowledge Management team, this role will take responsibility for providing proactive knowledge management to the team. The ideal candidate will be motivated to keep themselves up to date with the latest legal developments and market practices, while analysing new laws and keeping the team up to date on any relevant and key areas they need to be aware of. Tasks will include:

1. Undertaking legal research
2. Creation and maintaining of templates
3. Providing feedback on templates and queries
4. Assisting the department with bids and pitches for new business
5. Providing and organising relevant training material and seminars
6. Identifying opportunities for cross-selling between teams
7. Preparing seminars and training material for clients

Skills and experience required:

1. An experienced Lawyer, circa 5+ PQE
2. Experience within private client law at a larger / non-high street firm
3. A keenness to keep up to date with new legislation
