Professional Support Lawyer - Banking & Finance - Bristol

Fantastic opportunity to join a specialist Banking & Finance team as a Professional Support Lawyer at a top 50 firm in Bristol. This highly ranked team deliver expert legal services to a wide spectrum of clients, including borrowers, sponsors, and lenders handling transactions ranging from £1 Million to £1 Billion.

Covering sectors like energy, transport, tech, real estate, and infrastructure, the team's expertise includes acquisition finance, project finance, real estate finance, structured finance, and asset-based lending. While much of the team's work is UK-based, they regularly engage in cross-border matters alongside international partners.

As a Professional Support Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role to ensure technical excellence within the Banking & Finance team and support the development of its members. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing a comprehensive training program.
  • Identifying skill gaps and delivering targeted training sessions.
  • Managing the team's knowledge resources and precedent documents.
  • Staying updated on legal developments through research and sharing insights.
  • Promoting best practices and facilitating internal knowledge-sharing.
  • Supporting business strategy implementation within the team.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the firm, including marketing and innovation teams, on various initiatives.


Beyond the team, you'll contribute to wider firm projects, aiding in knowledge management and sector-focused strategies.

Requirements

  • Solid experience and technical expertise in Banking & Finance matters.
  • Qualification as a Banking & Finance Lawyer through the SRA or Law Society of Scotland.


Whilst previous experience as a PSL is not essential, transferable skills in knowledge development are highly desirable.
