The role and what youll be getting up to on a day to day basis:

Are you a technically curious engineer with a knack for delivering high-quality networking solutions? AtLittlefish, we dont just implement techwe enable transformation. Were expanding our Professional Services team and looking for aNetwork Engineerwho thrives on variety, enjoys being hands-on, and is ready to make a real impact across diverse client environments.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Field Deployment:Youll be the first boots on the groundvisiting client sites to install and configure networking hardware including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Project Delivery:Working independently or as part of a team, youll contribute to professional services engagements with precision and professionalism.
  • Documentation:Youll create clear, consistent internal and client-facing documentation to support transparency and long-term success.
  • Service Transition:Ensuring solutions are tested, documented, and ready for handover into support.
  • Continuous Development:Youll pursue certifications, stay current with emerging tech, and share knowledge with peers.

What Youll Bring

  • Hands-on Experience:Proven track record deploying networking gearespecially Cisco Meraki, Cisco, Fortinet, and HP Aruba. Adaptability to other brands is a plus.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnosing and resolving network issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
  • Technical Proficiency:Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls), and network operating systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Creation & Maintenance of accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Communication & Collaboration:Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Mobility:Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Frequent travel and overnight stays are part of the role.
  • Security: You must be able to achieve SC Clearance and Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3 clearances to be able to visit the maximum number of Littlefish clients.

Desirable Extras

  • Microsoft Ecosystem Awareness:Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure Networking, and security concepts is highly beneficial Helping / Defining good security and BC/DR plans with clients. Executing test plans and documenting the findings.
  • Efficiency & Automation:With an eye on the future, keen to develop skills to facilitate efficiency in deployment, potentially through scripting and automation.
