Professional Science Tutor: GCSE and A-level

J & D UK Ltd is a tutoring and educational consulting company based in Hammersmith, London, which helps prepare students (mostly from China, Hong Kong, and Singapore) for a wide variety of examinations including 11+, 13+, and 16+ school entrance assessments, GCSEs, and A-levels. We support our students over the long term, often beginning from primary school and continuing up to their preparations for university. Our tutors work flexible hours according to their availability and that of our students. Lessons are mostly taught remotely via Classin, an online learning platform; however, we sometimes have our London-based tutors come to our office to teach in-house.

We are currently looking for specialists in the core sciences with strong teaching experience and subject expertise who can teach Physics, Biology, and Chemistry at GCSE and A-level. Tutors will help students navigate the UK curriculum, improve their scientific literacy, and stand them in good stead to succeed in their formal exams. Not only are these vital core subjects up to GCSE level, but many of our students continue to study these at A-level and beyond.

The ideal candidate has:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Teaching / tutoring experience
• A strong background in physics, biology, and/or chemistry
• Enthusiasm for the subject
• Patience and motivation skills
• Excellent behaviour management and organization skills
• A Standard DBS Check

You will need to:

• Plan and prepare lessons in accordance with students' individual needs
• Teach lessons 1:1 via Classin
• Assess and monitor pupils' work and provide lesson feedback
• Record students' progress
