Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Associate Underwriter to join our Professional Risks team in London on a hybrid basis. You will manage broker-assigned accounts, with emphasis on renewals before expanding book growth, while making sound underwriting decisions within authority.

The role requires underwriting experience in Financial Lines, a degree, and knowledge of local regulatory requirements. We value collaboration across the business and strong broker relationships.

Qualifications

• University degree.
• Previous underwriting experience in Financial Lines.
• Working knowledge of the local insurance marketplace.
• Familiarity with regulatory rules, policies and procedures.
• CII Certification.
• Proficiency with Windows MS Office.
• Full driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and assess risk to maximize growth and profitability for allocated book of business.
• Make decisions within own underwriting authority and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Support new business, renewals and mid-term alterations as needed.
• Maintain accurate underwriting documentation in systems and adhere to standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Head Office, Risk Control, Distribution, Claims, Actuarial).
• Develop broker relationships and participate in sales planning and visits.
• Contribute to development and execution of sales plans with distribution.
• Attend regular underwriting and sales meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service to brokers and clients.
