We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

We are recruiting a permanent, full-time Band B8D Psychology Professional Lead for Adult Learning Disability Services in NHS GG&C. The Learning Disability Service in GGC is the largest in Scotland, comprising 2 inpatient wards and 8 community teams across 6 HSCPs. The successful candidate will provide professional and clinical leadership to Practitioner Psychologists, oversee PT governance, and be supported by Consultant Clinical Psychologists. They will hold line management responsibilities for some psychology staff and serve as an integral member of the Senior Management Team, advising on psychological care, workforce issues, and staff wellbeing. The role includes 5 clinical sessions within inpatient services.

Applicants must be HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologists with significant experience in learning disability services, a proven leadership track record in service development, and operational line management experience is desirable. The post-holder will be line managed by the Head of Adult Services: Learning Disability and Recovery, with professional leadership from the Psychology Professional Lead. They will also contribute to board-wide and national initiatives, including workforce development and clinical placements.

Informal inquiries can be directed to Tom Kelly, Head of Adult Services: Learning Disability and Recovery, at Tom.kelly@nhs.scot or 0141 451 0751.
