Sector: Private practice

Our client is a national insurance firm with a strong professional indemnity offering across the regions. The team advises on all kinds of professional indemnity claims, including claims against solicitors, conveyancers, surveyors, architects, and engineers. They also regularly advise on complex policy coverage issues. The team has an impressive client list and the ability to work very closely with insureds and claims professionals alike.

The Role:

The Professional Indemnity team wishes to recruit a junior lawyer to assist a highly regarded Partner who has recently joined the team. The partner in question is known for their work in defending lawyers.

Key requirements:

  • Previous insurance litigation experience, ideally within professional indemnity.
  • An ability to prioritise workload.
  • An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with case management systems.
  • The personal skills to deal with major and expensive litigation involving liaison with senior claims handlers.
  • Willingness to play a role in the development of client relationships and of the practice as a whole.
  • Claims handling experience (via a previous secondment or otherwise).
