What Is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a Professional Indemnity Lawyer to join our in-house team in Manchester or London. You will be part of a leading Claims team specializing in Professional and Financial Lines claims, managing a challenging caseload, and working with customers, internal partners, and external vendors to deliver excellent customer experiences and outcomes. Responsibilities include investigating claims, developing strategies, and setting reserves. This role is ideal for qualified candidates with some post-qualification experience seeking an intellectually stimulating environment within a supportive team committed to growth.

Work Arrangement

Travelers Europe offers flexible hybrid working arrangements, typically three days in the office and two days remote, which may be subject to change.

What Will You Do?

1. Manage claims daily, including investigations related to policy coverage, liability, quantum, and reserves.
2. Provide legal support to insureds and develop strategies for optimal outcomes.
3. Build client relationships and communicate strategies clearly.
4. Negotiate claim settlements.
5. Ensure vendors provide cost-effective, high-quality services.
6. Collaborate with team members and participate in projects.
7. Engage with stakeholders across the organization to facilitate solutions.
8. Partner with Client Relationship and Underwriting teams to strengthen customer relationships.

Ideal Candidate Profile

1. Extensive experience in Financial Lines, especially Solicitors professional negligence claims.
2. Technical expertise with a proven track record managing key client accounts.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Strategic planning and business perspective at an intermediate level.
5. Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence others.
6. Teamwork skills.
7. Credibility and professionalism.
8. ACII or equivalent insurance certification preferred.

Must Have

1. Legal Degree / LLB or equivalent.
2. Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
3. Some insurance-related experience (paralegal, operations, broker).
