An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Production Workshop Planner to join their busy team in West Horndon, Essex. The company supports major clients in the power station and petrochemical sectors, offering breakdown support, site installations, project work, and in-house refurbishment and manufacturing.

This is a key role within the office and workshop—ideal for someone who thrives on planning, organisation, and driving productivity.

  1. Plan all workshop activities using the CRM system – including machining, fabrication, site work, and refurbishment jobs.
  2. Ensure the smooth scheduling of jobs in line with deadlines and capacity.
  3. Source and order materials from suppliers, raise purchase orders, and manage deliveries.
  4. Manage goods-in and goods-out, ensuring parts are labelled and allocated correctly.
  5. Collaborate closely with the Workshop Supervisor to maintain production flow.
  6. Lead daily and weekly planning meetings to align priorities.
  7. Monitor and report on business KPIs, analysing actual vs potential job turnover.
What we're looking for:
  1. Highly organised and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Previous planning experience in a machining or fabrication setting.
  3. Strong computer skills and experience with CRM or ERP systems.
  4. Excellent communicator across all levels—suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  5. A focus on achieving business KPIs and improving operational efficiency.
Workshop Overview:
  • A wide range of component manufacturing—from small bolts to large pumps.
  • On-site facilities include lathes, mills, fabrication stations, refurbishment areas, and a full machine shop.
  • A collaborative team handling varied and technically diverse projects.

If you're a hands-on planner with a passion for engineering and want to make a real difference in a growing team—this is the opportunity for you.
