Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Works/Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing and production operations at our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, managing staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare the safe and effective delivery of work to our customers including provision of trained and competent resources whilst maintaining best in class SHEQ performance and supporting culture and behaviours.
  • Develop and maintain long term relationships with our customers based on trust, predictability and mutual respect.
  • The role is a hub for all sites and is aimed someone who can co-ordinate teams and workload which changes constantly.
  • Maintain visible, felt leadership at all levels and ensure the team is empowered with clear objectives and has alignment with both the client and company strategic aims.
  • Assist the Project Managers in ensuring maximisation of value and efficiency, achieving all timescales and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily production and manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality targets are met.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and company objectives.
  • Manage and supervise production staff, providing leadership, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor and optimise production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Maintain and enforce quality control measures, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
  • Work closely with procurement, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Implement and drive lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse production data and prepare reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead problem-solving activities and provide solutions to production challenges.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and availability of machinery and equipment.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and innovation.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Works Manager, Production Manager, or similar role in a manufacturing environment 5+ years
  • Strong knowledge of production management principles, lean manufacturing, and process improvement.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in production planning and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
