Job summary

Mane Contract Services seeks Skilled Production Wirers for regulated manufacturing environments, including aerospace and defence sectors. You will perform cabinet, rack and box wiring, read engineering drawings, and ensure high-quality assembly in line with IPC standards.

Role involves wiring across power, data and RF applications, soldering, crimping, and creating multi-cable harnesses. Previous experience in MIL-DTL and RF connectors is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in cabinet, rack or box wiring.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using wiring schedules and circuit diagrams.
• Ability to follow bespoke customer assembly instructions.

Responsibilities

• Complete cabinet, rack and box wiring from 22 AWG to 10 AWG.
• Point-to-point wiring, crimping, loom termination.
• Wire across power, data and RF applications.
• Create and secure multi-cable harnesses and looms.
• Assemble and terminate MIL-DTL and RF connectors.
• Ensure proper crimping, soldering and strain-relief per standards.
• Work from drawings, schematics and BOMs.
• Maintain quality and safety compliance.

Job description

Due to an increase in customer orders, we are looking for Skilled Production Wirers with experience working within regulated manufacturing environments, ideally to aerospace, defence or similarly high-quality standards.

The facility has a strong heritage within the global defence and security markets. The team manufactures a wide range of advanced products, including:

• Satellite communication equipment
• Power management and control systems
• Surveillance equipment
• Counter-IED systems

The manufacturing operation covers electronic and electro-mechanical assembly, panel and cabinet wiring, and the testing of completed assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete complex cabinet, rack and box wiring using 22 AWG to 10 AWG cable and wire.
• Point to point wiring, cable crimping, looming & terminating work.
• Work across power, data and RF applications.
• Use a variety of crimping tools.
• Create, route and secure multi-cable harnesses and wiring looms.
• Assemble and terminate a wide range of electrical connectors, including:
• Military specification circular and rectangular connectors (MIL-DTL series)
• RF/coaxial connectors such as D-Types, BNC, TNC, SMA, and similar types
• Ensure correct preparation, crimping, soldering, and strain-relief techniques are applied
• Ability to solder to IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, will be an added advantage.
• Work from engineering drawings, wiring schedules, schematics, circuit diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs)
• Ensure all work is completed in line with required quality, safety and manufacturing standards.

Skills and Experience

• A minimum of three years' experience in cabinet, rack or box wiring.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working from wiring schedules, wiring diagrams and circuit diagrams.
• The ability to follow bespoke customer-supplied assembly instructions.
• Strong practical wiring, crimping and soldering skills.
