Job description

Due to an increase in customer orders, we are looking for skilled technicians with experience working within regulated manufacturing environments, ideally to aerospace, defence or similarly high-quality standards.

The team manufactures a wide range of advanced products, including:

  • Power management and control systems
  • Counter-IED systems

The manufacturing operation covers electronic and electro-mechanical assembly, panel and cabinet wiring, and the testing of completed assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete complex cabinet, rack and box wiring using 22 AWG to 10 AWG cable and wire.
  • Work across power, data and RF applications.
  • Use a variety of handheld crimping tools.
  • Create, route and secure multi-cable harnesses and wiring looms.
  • Terminate a range of connector types, including multi-pin, 38999, RF, data and power connectors.
  • Complete crimped and soldered wire terminations.
  • Support the development and manufacture of first-off units and cabling.
  • Work accurately from engineering drawings, wiring schedules and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with required quality, safety and manufacturing standards.
Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of three years' experience in cabinet, rack or box wiring.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working from wiring schedules, wiring diagrams and circuit diagrams.
  • The ability to follow bespoke customer-supplied assembly instructions.
  • Strong practical wiring, crimping and soldering skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Experience in prototype wiring or completion of a time-served apprenticeship would be desirable but is not essential.

IPC J-STD certification would be a distinct advantage.
