Job description

Title: Production Test Engineer

Location: Hawarden

Salary: £30,000

Description:

This is a rare opportunity to join this international engineering company on a permanent basis. The Production Test Engineer will be required to manufacture and test company products according to production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards whilst following established procedures and guidelines. The Production Test Engineer role will require strong experience working with electricals, within a fast-paced and deadline driven manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate all relevant machinery, tools, and equipment and undertake standard and complex production tasks safely and in accordance with instructions.
  • Set up or adjust equipment according to manufacturing specifications.
  • Set up, test and repair company electrical and electronic products according to manufacturing specifications and industry standards.
  • Monitor the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products.
  • Maintain accurate daily production records so that manufacturing performance can be analyzed.

Main Duties:

  • Contribute to the manufacturing team with particular emphasis on efficient individual and team working through adequate communication and training.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures with particular reference to health, safety and quality.
  • Operate equipment and machinery in a safe manner adhering to Health and Safety legislation at all time.
  • Perform a range of activities associated with the preparation of material manufacturing, completion and inspection of manufactured product.
  • Adhere to works order documentation.
  • Respond to fluctuations in planned and amended production planning.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment in accordance with relevant Preventive Maintenance documentation.
  • Report any unresolved issues to Production Manager.
  • Reduce occupational injuries inherent to the area by ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn at all times.
  • Ensure that the housekeeping in the manufacturing area is maintained to the highest standard.
  • Participate in developing the manufacturing activities e.g. working practices, equipment specifications, improvements in productivity and quality.
  • Production of defect-free product which meet with customer specifications.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time.

  • Understand customer needs and develop interventions to fulfil requirements.
  • Ensure excellent service delivery through operational excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse workforce.
  • Knowledge of electronic and electrical circuits, electronic testing and repair.
  • Ability to read circuit diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including Maths and English.

Working environment:

  • Office/Factory-based.
  • On occasion the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas.
  • Possible national and international travel for short durations.
  • Occasional out-of-hours working to accommodate time zone variations or meet customer deadlines.
