Media Production Technology Project Manager (Film/TV)

Role: Production Technology Project Manager

Pay Rate: £500 - £680 per day

Start: ASAP/Urgent

Contract Duration: 18 Months

Working Hours: 1pm – 9pm

Location: London, UK (Remote with some travel)

Media Production Technology IT Project Manager (Film/TV)

CPS Group UK is seeking an experienced Production Technology Project Manager with a proven track record in supporting IT Production Technology for Film, Media, and Television Content Production.

Working within a high-performing Global Program Management & Technology team, supporting top-tier productions for a major entertainment brand, the Project Manager will oversee project initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, control, and closure. They will play a key role in implementing initiatives for production groups and the Technology team.

Note: Due to collaboration with US-based teams, working hours are 1pm – 9pm.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the project manager and primary contact with UK-based production teams.
  2. Manage production requests, provide updates, assess priorities, track schedules, gather technical requirements, and manage project plans.
  3. Lead calls with productions during pre-production, production, and post-production phases.
  4. Coordinate communication of needs, issues, and fixes between production teams and technology engineers.
  5. Coordinate with other project managers and resources to assign tasks to Studio Technology engineers in the USA.
  6. Manage multiple concurrent projects throughout their lifecycle.
  7. Report project status, including timelines, milestones, budgets, and issues, to stakeholders and program management.
  8. Prioritize and escalate operational tasks as needed.
  9. Utilize business intelligence tools like PowerBI for reporting.
  10. Identify team inefficiencies and risks through analytical thinking.
  11. Implement projects or processes to enhance operations.
  12. Create workflow diagrams and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience managing IT/Production Technology Projects in a Film Studio or Content Production environment.
  • Deep understanding of Production Technology.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as MS Power BI.
  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of Technical Project Management experience using waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Over 3 years managing diverse technology projects with varying complexities and durations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams including architects, engineers, and post-production specialists.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Certified Scrum Master or similar certification.
  • Strong facilitation and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience with project management tools like Smartsheet and Jira.
