Job summary

BD in Plymouth, United Kingdom, seeks a Production Technician to run machinery, perform maintenance, and fault find in a high-volume, automated environment. The role includes 11pm-11am shifts with a substantial 37% shift premium and a strong focus on quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (C&G, HND) or time served apprenticeship.
• Experience in high-volume automated manufacturing environment.
• Experience in maintenance and fault finding.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operating production machinery and pallet release duties.
• Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and refurbishing offline machinery.
• Diagnosing and repairing electro-mechanical faults.
• Setting up manufacturing equipment to meet standards and output.
• Monitoring in-process quality and addressing issues to prevent holds.
• Minimising downtime within planned repair and spare costs.

Job Description

The Production Technician role is responsible for all technical and processing activities including and running machinery, equipment maintenance and fault finding.

The working hours are 11pm-11am and the shift is accompanied by an impressive 37% shift premium on top of your basic salary!

Main Responsibilities Will Include

• Operational responsibilities include covering breaks, operating production machinery, assembling product and pallet release duties.
• Conducting Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and refurbish offline machinery.
• Attending to electro-mechanical faults, diagnosing and repairing.
• Ensuring all manufacturing equipment is set up and produces product according to standards.
• Monitoring in-process quality, addressing issues as needed to prevent product holds.
• Ensuring the minimization of downtime within planned costs for repair and spares.

About You

• Qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (e.g: C&G, HND) or a time served apprenticeship.
• Experience in a high volume, highly automated manufacturing environment.
• Experience in maintenance and fault finding.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team player who is passionate about healthcare.
