Job summary

BD is seeking a Production Technician for the GBR Plymouth site. The role covers operating production machinery, performing maintenance, and fault finding in a high‑volume, automated environment.

The 11pm–11am shift offers a 37% premium on base pay, with a strong benefits package and a focus on safety and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery and support pallet release duties.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and refurbish offline machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical faults.
• Ensure equipment is set up correctly and produces to standards.
• Monitor in-process quality and address issues to prevent holds.
• Minimise downtime within planned repair costs and spares.

Job Description

The Production Technician role is responsible for all technical and processing activities including and running machinery, equipment maintenance and fault finding.

The working hours are 11pm-11am and the shift is accompanied by an impressive 37% shift premium on top of your basic salary!

Main responsibilities will include:

• Operational responsibilities include covering breaks, operating production machinery, assembling product and pallet release duties.

• Conducting Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and refurbish offline machinery.

• Attending to electro-mechanical faults, diagnosing and repairing .

• Ensuring all manufacturing equipment is set up and produces product according to standards.

• Monitoring in-process quality, addressing issues as needed to prevent product holds.

• Ensuring the minimization of downtime within planned costs for repair and spares.

About you:

• Qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (e.g: C&G, HND) or a time served apprenticeship.

• Experience in a high volume, highly automated manufacturing environment.

• Experience in maintenance and fault finding.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Team player who is passionate about healthcare.
