Production Technician - Mechanical

Pertemps Bristol is recruiting for mechanical production technicians to work within a thriving plasma technology business in Yatton, near Bristol. This is a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong teamwork culture where you will be building precision equipment used at the forefront of scientific research and development.

• £31,000-35,000 depending on experience
• Monday - Friday
• Each workweek consists of 4 shifts of 8 hours and one of 5 hours. Currently, shifts are Early (starting at 06:00) and Afternoon (starting at 14:00).

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on the assembly build of high-tech, cutting-edge products
• Build systems, sub-assemblies, and piece parts for complex systems
• Ensure compliance with BOM and customer specifications
• Identify and resolve build problems
• Report technical issues and record using the FRACAS process
• Perform precision fitting, including machining (milling and turning), vacuum and pneumatics, and pipe bending with stainless steel (¼" to ½")
• Train and guide less experienced technicians

Candidate Requirements:

• Time-served Mechanical apprenticeship or City and Guilds part 3, HND, HNC, or BTech Level 3
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• Fault-finding and corrective action skills
• Precision fitting and pipe bending skills
• Good working knowledge of Swagelok
• PC skills
• Good communication skills
