Job summary

Technical Futures Ltd is recruiting a skilled Technician for its North Cambridge office, focusing on electro/opto-mechanical assembly and test of imaging and security systems. You will handle mechanical, optical and electronic assemblies, with fault-finding and documentation throughout the process.

Ideal candidates have an engineering qualification or equivalent experience, and are proficient in soldering, wiring, PCB repair and reading schematics.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent industrial experience required.
• Proficiency in electro-mechanical / opto-mechanical assembly including soldering, wiring and cable/harness assembly.
• PCB repair skills and good fault-finding abilities.
• Understanding of clean room techniques and ability to read schematics.
• Basic familiarity with mechanical design software and electronic principles.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test electro/opto-mechanical assemblies for imaging and security systems.
• Component level fault-finding and documentation of results.
• Support manufacturing with assembly procedures and quality checks.

Job description

A competent Technician with proven experience of working within a High-Tech Electronics/ Mechanical Manufacturing environment; with proven assembly, soldering and wiring experience will join the production team of an award-winning Technology Company. Experience with optical related products highly beneficial. Generous Salary on offer.

The Technician role will focus on the electro/opto-mechanical assembly and test of a variety of mission critical imaging and security systems covering the manufacture and testing of mechanical, optical and electronic assemblies, component level fault-finding and documentation.

The successful Technician should bring the following skills & experience:

• An Engineering qualification or equivalent relevant industrial experience.
• Proficiency in electro-mechanical / opto-mechanical assembly techniques including soldering, wiring and cable/harness assembly.
• Some PCB repair skills.
• Good fault-finding and debugging skills.
• An understanding of clean room techniques.
• The ability to read schematics.
• A basic understanding of mechanical design software and appreciation of electronic principles.
