Role Overview
Our client are looking for an experienced Production Technician (Contractor) to support the assembly and testing of electrical and electronic systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with a strong background in electrical assembly, particularly within maritime or offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform soldering and PCB assembly to a high standard.
• Build and wire electrical cabinets and enclosures.
• Assemble and install control systems and low voltage electrical systems.
• Interpret and work from system diagrams, schematics, and wiring schedules.
• Quality review of drawings and provide feedback to support functions.
• Conduct functional testing and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Work in accordance with DNV and Lloyd’s Register standards where applicable.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues.
Essential Requirements
• Demonstrable experience in:
• - Soldering and PCB assembly
• - Cabinet/enclosure builds
• - Wiring and control systems
• - Low voltage installations
• Strong understanding of electrical principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Must hold electrical certification (minimum City & Guilds 2365, BS7671, or 18th Edition).
• Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
• Experience in maritime or offshore electrical systems.
• Familiarity with DNV and Lloyd’s Register standards.
• Background in regulated or quality-focused environments.
