Qualifications

What you’ll be responsible for
Operate Water Treatment Works and associated water pumping stations to company BMS and Health & Safety requirements.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  1. Controlling chemical and other stock levels and consumables by control and management of purchasing via SAP. Monitoring and controlling expenditure to meet budgetary targets.
  2. Inducting, supervising and managing outside contractors carrying out revenue and reactive capital maintenance breakdowns and projects ensuring full compliance to Health & Safety and BMS requirements and ensuring quality control.
  3. To liaise with ME&I crafts team on revenue and reactive capital maintenance work.
  4. Liaising and planning work with network supervisors and operatives to ensure uninterrupted supply when plant shut downs are required for maintenance and other associated work required on site.
  5. Participating in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for area of operation.
  6. Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

About You
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  1. NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualifications in Water.
  2. Experience gained in the industry to ensure full compliance and adherence to all H&S issues.
  3. Computer systems literate.
  4. Awareness of regulatory bodies such as DWI and Environment Agency/NRW.
  5. Dealing with control of abstraction under licence at raw water intakes.
  6. Dealing with discharge consent licence for all environmental discharges.

  1. This role includes additional earnings for planned working time, overtime and standby.
