Job description

Production Team Leader with experience in a Food Manufacturing environment, good staff supervisory / team leading skills and knowledge of production line systems such as packing machines, palletisers and ERP systems is required for a well-established company based in Enfield, North London.

SALARY: £41,292 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Enfield, North London (EN1) – 100% Site Based

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Rotating Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday, Day and Night shifts

AM Day Shift 6.00am – 3.00pm

PM Night Shift 3.00pm – 11.00pm

At times, there will be opportunity to work additional hours before and after shift, as well as at weekends.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Production Team Leader with experience in a Food Manufacturing environment, good staff supervisory / team leading skills and knowledge of production line systems such as packing machines, palletisers and ERP systems.

Working as the Production Team Leader you will efficiently oversee the production in oil/spices, working with the Production Manager to meet the requirements of the production plan whilst monitoring health and safety, food safety standards and quality.

As the Production Team Leader you will have indirect reports such as line technicians, skilled operatives and basic operators and will be their point of contact for troubleshooting support and escalating issues.

DUTIES

  • Be the point of contact for Technicians and Operators for troubleshooting support and escalate issues according to escalation process.
  • Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure there is sufficient RM/PKG/Storage space to meet the demands of the production plan.
  • Support Production Manager to manage labour plan, holidays, sickness and agency requirements.
  • Ensure site readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Drive performance through short interval control and attend production reviews.
  • Be a key member of the continuous improvement team.
  • Support staff development through SOP development, training, team briefs and feedback.
  • Run production lines as part of holiday/absence cover.
  • Take the lead in asset care and ensure maintenance plans are achieved.
  • Have a good control on yield and weights to reduce giveaway costs.
  • Drive material consumption and ensure regular stock counts are completed frequently.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment.
  • Experience in leading teams.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems such as packing machines, palletisers and ERP systems.
  • Basic Computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
