Production Team Leader
Location: Enfield, North London (EN1) — 100% site-based
Salary: £41,292 per annum + Benefits
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Rotating shift pattern — Monday to Friday, Day and Night shifts
- AM Day Shift: 6.00am - 3.00pm
- PM Night Shift: 3.00pm - 11.00pm
Additional hours may be required before and after shifts, including weekends.
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Team Leader with a background in Food Manufacturing, strong supervisory skills, and knowledge of production line systems such as packing machines, palletisers, and ERP systems. In this role, you will oversee production in the oil/spices sector, collaborating with the Production Manager to meet production plans while maintaining health and safety, food safety, and quality standards.
You will manage indirect reports including line technicians, skilled operatives, and basic operators, serving as their point of contact for troubleshooting and issue escalation.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for troubleshooting support for technicians and operators, escalating issues as necessary.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure sufficient raw materials, packaging, and storage space.
- Assist the Production Manager in managing labor planning, holidays, sickness, and agency staffing.
- Prepare the site for internal and external audits.
- Drive performance through short interval control and participate in production reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support staff development through SOP creation, training, team briefs, and feedback.
- Operate production lines during holiday or absence coverage.
- Lead asset care initiatives and ensure maintenance plans are followed.
- Maintain control over yield and weights to minimize giveaway costs.
- Monitor material consumption and conduct regular stock counts.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in Food Manufacturing environments.
- Proven team leadership skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems like packing machines, palletisers, and ERP systems.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).
