KPI Recruiting Ltd is recruiting for a Production Team Leader in Newmarket (CB8). The role is a hands-on leadership position on the 6:00am to 2:00pm shift, Monday to Friday, paying £15.58 per hour.

You will lead a production team on the shop floor, monitor performance, and drive safety, quality and efficiency. The successful candidate will have prior team leadership experience in food manufacturing, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement, waste reduction

Production Team Leader

Location: Newmarket, CB8
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm
Pay Rate: £15.58 per hour

Production Team Leader - Food Manufacturing

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a successful food manufacturing business based in Newmarket (CB8). This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys leading by example while driving team performance, quality, and operational excellence.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting directly to the Senior Team Leader. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the production area, supporting your team on the shop floor, and ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support a team of production operatives.
• Work alongside the team on the production line to ensure smooth operations.
• Report production performance, issues, and updates to the Senior Team Leader.
• Ensure production schedules and KPIs are achieved.
• Monitor product quality and food safety standards.
• Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
• Assist with training and development of team members.
• Conduct shift handovers and communicate effectively across departments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and food manufacturing regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Line Leader, Production Supervisor, or similar role within food manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead by example in a hands-on production environment.
• Strong communication and people management skills.
• Good understanding of food safety, quality, and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production targets.
• Problem-solving mindset with excellent attention to detail.
