Job summary

A growing food manufacturer in Worcester is seeking a Production Team Leader to drive safety, quality, and performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will lead from the front, improve processes, and deliver measurable results through hands-on management.

Shift Pattern- 4 on 4 off days & nights. You will own KPIs, uphold 5S and autonomous maintenance, and guide Kaizen activities to sustain continuous improvement across the line.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing with shift-based targets.
• Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Continuous improvement mindset with problem-solving experience.
• Strong numeracy and data interpretation.
• English language proficiency and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a production area with safety as a non-negotiable standard.
• Support Autonomous Maintenance and 5S standards with tidy handovers.
• Monitor process controls, address non-conformance, and assist root cause actions.
• Drive output through SOP adherence, line speeds, and times; escalate deviations.
• Minimise waste by identifying loss points and addressing spills/leaks.
• Communicate across teams and contribute to Kaizen improvements.

What You Will Do:

• Lead a production area with clear ownership of key performance metrics, putting personal and team safety first as a non-negotiable standard.
• Maintain an immaculate working environment by supporting Autonomous Maintenance, strong 5S standards, and well-prepared, organised handovers.
• Ensure quality requirements are met by monitoring process controls, responding immediately to non-conformance, and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions where needed.
• Drive output performance through disciplined adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), line speeds, and process times, escalating deviations through the right channels.
• Minimise waste by spotting loss points early, acting on spillages or leaks, and challenging wasteful practice to eliminate recurring issues.
• Communicate effectively across upstream and downstream teams, contributing to Kaizen improvements and troubleshooting problems to prevent repeat occurrences.

What You Will Bring:

• Experience working in manufacturing, with a solid understanding of day-to-day operations and shift-based targets.
• The ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders, including the confidence to challenge unsafe or out-of-control conditions promptly.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with practical experience in problem-solving, root cause thinking, and helping teams adopt better ways of working.
• Strong numeracy and an interest in interpreting basic process data, supporting straightforward statistical process control and performance tracking.
• The ability to work in English, understand instructions and specifications, and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
