Job description

£39,500 plus bonus, Permanent, Sheffield, Monday - Friday, AM / PM rotating shifts, modern manufacturing facility, 33 days holiday, on site canteen and free car parking.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Team Leader to join their business on a full time permanent basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record. The Production Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the production process, managing team performance, ensuring quality standards are met, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

You will be working in close collaboration with the Production Team Leader on the opposite shift to improve overall performance of value stream, increase in safety, performance, 5S, and identify, monitor and report cost savings. Reporting into the Shift Manager, other day to day responsibilities will include:

• Accountability and reporting on performance of value stream through performance against daily targets, with corrective actions to correct shortfalls.


• Leading team through daily application off CI tools and techniques (SIC and DCI) to achieve optimal business performance.


• Lead and develop team through regular reviews, training and development, skills monitoring and improvement plans. Providing coaching and development opportunities to enhance skills and productivity.


• Daily communication to wider business through daily Level 4 SQDCIP meeting with accountability for value stream.


• Planning off throughput to achieve target set and maintenance of Kan Ban stock levels.


• Ordering of component materials in order to achieve plan for optimal business KPIs performance.


• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, encouraging open communication and teamwork.

We are looking for a Production Team Leader, Shift Manager or Shift Production Supervisor with proven experience in a similar role ideally within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment. In addition the ideal Production Team Leader will have;

• Proven experience in a production leadership role within a manufacturing / engineering environment.


• Strong IT literate and ideally have some knowledge of working with ERP systems


• Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems.


• IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent (not essential).


• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.


• Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.


• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
