Job summary

Exact Sourcing Limited is seeking an experienced Team Leader for a busy food production facility in Newmarket. This hands-on role requires leading a team across two shifts, ensuring targets are met while upholding high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

You will motivate and develop operatives, manage resources, and collaborate with management to drive continuous improvement. A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification is advantageous, but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a food production/manufacturing environment.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Good understanding of food safety, quality standards and health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support a team of production operatives.
• Ensure daily production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Monitor product quality and food safety standards throughout the production process.
• Allocate tasks and resources to maximise productivity.
• Conduct team briefings and provide clear communication across shifts.
• Identify and resolve production issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
• Support training and development of team members.
• Complete production records and reports accurately.
• Work with management and other departments to drive continuous improvement.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join a busy food production facility in Newmarket. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Shift Pattern

• 6:00am - 2:00pm
• 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support a team of production operatives.
• Ensure daily production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Monitor product quality and food safety standards throughout the production process.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Senior Operative role within a food production or manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Good understanding of food safety, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible and proactive approach to work.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
