Production Team Leader
Site based- Gainsborough - Marley
Upto £45,555 per annum inclusive of shift allowance
36.5 - 44.5 hrs per week depending upon business needs on a two shift rotation (Days and Afters)

The role…
Working from our busy manufacturing site and reporting directly to the Operations Manager. As part of Production team this position will have responsibility for day to day running of the production lines whilst adhering to health and safety guidelines, championing a culture of safety first.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a strong safety culture within the production team
  • Ensure adherence to site rules and safe systems of work
  • Proactively identify and report hazards and environmental risks
  • Ensure timber products meet specification and visual appearance standards
  • Maintain schedule compliance and minimise non-conformance
  • Provide clear leadership, coaching and performance management
  • Promote teamwork and lead by example with integrity
  • Support recruitment, training, and labour organisation in line with company procedures

  • Use continuous improvement tools (Lean, 5S) to reduce waste, increase availability, and drive efficiency
  • Liaise with stock control, quality, and maintenance to optimise shift performance
  • Apply 5S standards to maintain a clean and efficient production environment
  • Identify and implement improvements in layout, process, and organisation


Skills and Experience Required

  • Prior experience in a production or manufacturing team leader/supervisory role (timber industry preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of health & safety regulations and safe systems of work
  • Familiarity with production scheduling and manufacturing KPIs
  • Effective leadership, coaching, and people management skills
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making ability in a production environment
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP and standard Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
