A large manufacturing company located centrally in Medway Towns is recruiting an experienced Production Team Leader on a permanent basis.

You will be working rotating shifts as follows:

Week 1 Monday-Thursday 6am-2pm and Friday 6am-1pm

Week 2 Monday-Thursday 2pm-10pm and Friday 1pm-8pm.

Overview: As a Production Team Leader, you will oversee a team of Assembly Operators, ensuring daily and weekly production targets are met efficiently and to a high standard. This role combines operational planning with first-level people management and process improvement responsibilities. You'll contribute directly to the performance, quality, and safety of the production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assign and oversee daily/weekly tasks for Assembly Operatives
* First-level people management: recruitment, inductions, absence and performance meetings, and disciplinary processes
* Maintain training matrices and conduct skills reviews
* Deliver KPIs and drive team performance
* Lead daily staff briefings and team meetings
* Ensure product quality and production efficiency
* Manage inventory and stock movement using SAP
* Collaborate with Engineering on equipment maintenance
* Improve processes using data analysis
* Provide team cover and training where needed
* Champion Health and Safety practices, ensuring compliance
* Record and act on near misses/incidents
* Support the Production Manager with budget-related tasks

Qualifications:

Essential: GCSEs in English and Mathematics

Knowledge & Experience

* Essential: Experience in a production assembly environment
* Desirable: Experience in the fire industry

Technical Skills

* Essential: Proficient in Windows-based systems
* Desirable: Experience with SAP Business 1
