Job summary

Kerry is expanding its Coleraine site with a new production line and seeks Production Team Leaders to manage and develop a team of Production Operatives. The role focuses on safe, efficient, high-quality operations and driving continuous improvement from day one.

This full-time, permanent position operates a rotating 12-hour shift pattern (700am-700pm and 700pm-700am). Candidates should have experience in food manufacturing, strong leadership, and excellent communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out production activities and process changeovers in line with SOPs.
• Leading problem-solving activities by identifying and reporting production issues.
• Escalating production issues for further investigation and root cause analysis.
• Inspecting materials for damage, defects or foreign material and verifying batch numbers.
• Confirming availability of ingredients, packaging, consumables, and resources for production.
• Recording and collecting key production and quality control data.
• Carrying out standard operating checks on work in progress and finished product.
• Performing maintenance checks on process equipment before, during and after daily operations.
• Cross-training across a range of machines and production areas to support operational flexibility.

About The Role

We have several exciting opportunities available for Production Team Leaders to join our growing team at Kerry's manufacturing site in Coleraine, Co. Londonderry.

Due to continued business growth and increased customer demand, we are expanding our operations and launching a new production line, creating multiple permanent leadership opportunities for individuals who are passionate about people management, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Our Coleraine site employs approximately 190 people and it specializes in the production of slice-on-slice processed cheese products, syrups and sweet sauces.

This is an exciting time to join Kerry as we invest in the future of our Coleraine operation and build a brand-new production team to support our expansion plans.

As a Production Team Leader, you will play a key role in leading and developing a team of Production Operatives, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while helping to shape the culture and success of our new production line from day one.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working a rotating 12-hour shift pattern covering days and nights (700am-700pm and 700pm-700am).

What will you do?

• Carrying out production activities and process changeovers in line with relevant Standard Operating Procedures.


• Leading problem-solving activities by identifying, rectifying and reporting production issues.


• Escalating production issues for further investigation and root cause analysis.


• Inspecting materials for damage, defects or foreign material, and verifying batch numbers and shelf-life before use in production.


• Confirming the availability of ingredients, packaging, consumables and production line resources.


• Recording and collecting key production and quality control data.


• Carrying out standard operating checks on work in progress and finished product.


• Performing maintenance checks on process equipment before, during and after daily operations.


• Cross-training across a range of machines and production areas to support operational flexibility.

What do you need to be successful?

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, ideally within a food production environment.


• Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.


• Leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing environment.


• Confident communicator. Good written, verbal and numerical skills, with fluency in spoken and written English.


• Computer literate, with the ability to use Microsoft Office tools.


• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with proactive approach.


• Team-focused, with a commitment to supporting the Production Stream in achieving its goals.


• Adaptable and quick to learn. Strong commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
