Job summary

Gap Personnel Limited is recruiting on behalf of a family-owned food producer in Taunton for a hands-on Production Team Leader to drive a small shift.

You will lead a tight-knit team, organise daily tasks, ensure food safety and quality, and keep production on track.

The role is 2pm to 10pm in a rural site, with a pragmatic, supportive leadership style and a focus on team development.

Qualifications

• Previous food manufacturing experience
• Experience leading a team, or responsibility as a line leader or supervisor
• An understanding of high-care or low-risk production environments
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety
• A calm, practical approach when things get busy
• Confidence organising workloads and keeping standards high
• A genuine interest in helping people learn and develop

Responsibilities

• Organising daily tasks and making sure everyone knows the plan
• Leading, motivating and supporting your team
• Keeping production on track against targets
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and quality standards
• Monitoring working practices and ensuring procedures are followed
• Training team members and building their confidence and skills
• Spotting issues early and helping resolve production problems
• Providing clear handovers and communicating with other departments
• Getting stuck in alongside your team when needed
