Production Support Engineer - Commodities
Trading Applications Support is the first call for the firm’s trading teams regarding their trading requests and trade processing.
A candidate in this role interfaces with trading teams, Technology teams, External vendors, Risk Management, Operations, and the Broker community.
We are looking for a L1/L2 Trading Applications Support Analyst – FIC to join our team in London providing trade support to all EMEA Trading Teams on the firm’s proprietary and external trading applications. You will be responsible for resolving client and application issues stemming from the use of our trading platforms to execute trades across global markets.
The role will be focused on business support across Commodities & Fixed Income Trading production support.
You will be part of a Global Support Team (follow the sun model) helping to provide our user base with world-class service.
Principal Responsibilities
- Trade Support:
- 1st and 2nd Line support for all Trading teams within the EMEA region.
- Incident & Change management.
- Assist with automating processes to increase efficiency and streamline trade support.
- Manage communications with a wide range of stakeholders (firm management, brokers, development teams, risk management).
- Trading Platform Onboarding and Management:
- User onboarding: responsible for the setup of new users, configuring accounts, product permissions, coordinating with risk for trading limits, and coordinating test trades.
- User Training: Provide training to new users on various technology stacks (Trading application & risk management platforms).
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Previous experience in a Trade Support / Business Analyst role in major financial institutions (sell side / buy side / trading firm).
- Experience supporting Commodities Trading and proficiency with Trading Platforms such as Trayport, WebICE, TT.
- Working knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (Python, Java) and API concepts (HTTP protocol, RestAPIs).
- Exposure to multiple asset classes (EQ Derivatives, Interest Rates derivatives, Equities Cash markets, Fixed Income, Credit) desirable.
- Good understanding of Unix / Windows environments.
- Intermediate SQL skills.
- Familiarity with middle and back office systems, risk management tools (OpenLink, Imagine) and with Bloomberg or Reuters market data desirable.
- Able to prioritize in a fast-moving, high-pressure, constantly changing environment; Good sense of urgency – problem management and escalation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, accountable, and strong sense of ownership.
- Fast learner with a demonstrated aptitude to grasp new concepts quickly.
