Job Summary: We seek a highly skilled Production Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across multiple UK studio locations. The role involves ensuring smooth daily operations for employees and production teams, utilizing studio technology and applications. This is an ON-SITE position requiring regular travel; it is not remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary on-site technical contact for studio staff and production teams.
  • Provide high-quality, timely support for user-facing issues, minimizing production downtime.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with macOS, Windows, and Linux systems.
  • Support and maintain virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and remote desktop technologies.
  • Communicate effectively with teams to assess IT needs and offer solutions.
  • Monitor systems for reliability and performance; escalate issues as needed.
  • Stay current on best practices, new tools, and updates as a subject matter expert.
  • Collaborate with internal and vendor support teams for complex issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
  • Maintain documentation of incidents, resolutions, and system configurations.
  • Manage technical inventory, parts, and equipment logistics.
  • Support studio workflows, applications, and storage systems.
  • Work with engineering teams to optimize production technology environments.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience in technical troubleshooting or production support in a production, broadcast, or post-production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of macOS, Windows, and Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with helpdesk systems, automation tools, and remote management.
  • Understanding of VDI and remote desktop solutions.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Clear communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Desired Experience:

  • On-site support experience in film, TV, animation, or VFX studios.
  • Support for production workflows, storage, and media applications.
  • Scripting or automation experience.
  • Knowledge of helpdesk and ITIL best practices.
  • Attention to detail, curiosity, proactive learning approach.
