Overview

Working alongside our client, a manufacturer of plastic and rubber caps, we are looking for a Production Support Engineer to join their team.

Remit

A key member of the production team, the Production Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Production Manager in achievement of all operational targets.

You will be responsible for maintaining all plant and equipment in a safe condition, including preventive maintenance of the plant and building, alongside providing new tooling through manufacture of procurement and assisting with securing accurate quotations for materials, plant and equipment.

This is a varied and fast paced position allowing the successful candidate to be involved in a range of production operations.

Role

• Ensure all equipment and machinery is in safe working condition
• Produce custom tooling to order and within agreed timescale
• Reacting to breakdowns/failures
• Development of TPM system
• Continual maintenance of plant and equipment
• Maintenance of building
• Involvement in IMS focused improvement culture
• Effective performance management and development of direct reports
• Training development of Engineering apprentice
• Working as part of the Engineering and Production team to achieve corporate objectives
• Maintaining cost effective relationships with suppliers
• Maintain customer satisfaction through prompt and effective response to customer requests

Experience Requirements

• Experience of working within a manufacturing or production environment
• Qualified within an engineering discipline with the ability to operate engineering machinery safely (lathes, milling, welding, fabrication, hydraulics & pneumatics)
• Experience with continuous improvement
• Demonstrated ability to achieve targets under pressure and within changing environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Abrasive wheels certification
• Ability to work using own initiative
