A leading technology services firm in the UK seeks a skilled Production Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across multiple studio locations. The candidate will ensure smooth operations for production teams, requiring experience in troubleshooting and knowledge of macOS, Windows, and Linux systems. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential. This position requires on-site work and regular travel between locations.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Support Engineerto provide hands-on technical support across multiple studio locations in the UK. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for both employees and production teams, all utilizing the client’s studio technology and applications.
Please note: This is NOT a remote position. The role is ON-SITEand requires regular travel to multiple site locations.
Serve as the primary on-site technical point of contact for studio employees and production teams.
Deliver high-quality, timely technical support for all user-facing issues, with a focus on minimizing downtime in active productions.
Proactively troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues involving macOS, Windows, and Linux systems.
Support and maintain virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and remote desktop technologies.
Communicate effectively with production and departmental teams to assess IT needs and provide solutions.
Monitor systems and services for reliability and performance, and escalate issues where necessary.
Act as a subject matter expert for studio technology systems, staying current on best practices, new tools, and updates.
Collaborate with internal and vendor support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventative measures.
Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, maintenance activities, and system configurations.
Manage technical inventory, parts ordering, and equipment logistics between studio locations.
Provide support for studio-specific workflows, applications, and storage systems.
Work closely with engineering teams to improve and optimize production technology environments.
Proven experience in a technical troubleshooting and/or production support role within a production, broadcast, or post-production environment.
Strong working knowledge of macOS, Windows, and Linuxsystems.
Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems, automation tools, and remote management applications.
Understanding of virtual desktop infrastructureand remote desktop solutions.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple issues simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced production environments.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users.
Prior on-site support experience in film, television, animation, or VFX studios.
Experience supporting studio production workflows, storage systems, and media applications.
Exposure to scripting or automation to streamline support tasks.
Knowledge of helpdesk best practices and ITIL processes.
High attention to detail, curiosity, and a proactive approach to learning.
