Job Description Overview
As a Production Supervisor, you will be the first line leader supporting team members within your area/zone. Oversee daily operations, ensure team activities align with company goals, objectives, and scheduled production requirements to ensure your team's success.
This position will be on 2nd Shift, Monday through Thursday, 3:00 pm to 1:00 am. Occasional overtime may be required on Fridays from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Creates an environment of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize efficiency and enhance productivity within the department.
- Champions safety by leading compliance with all safety regulations, conducting safety audits, and promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Embraces servant leadership by fostering trust, collaboration, and empowerment, prioritizing team members' needs, and removing obstacles for growth and performance.
- Acts as a mentor and coach, supporting team members' learning and development.
- Fosters a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment in all interactions and decisions.
- Facilitates effective communication within the department and with other departments for seamless operations.
- Analyzes key performance metrics to identify improvement areas and implement solutions.
- Establishes annual goals aligned with key performance metrics.
- Seeks to eliminate waste and develop team skills to improve lean operations.
- Ensures proper training in safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S.
- Interfaces with technical staff for support.
- Continuously improves processes, reduces inventories, and minimizes work in progress.
- Serves as the first contact for employee relations issues.
- Interacts with Union Stewards regarding contract and discipline issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge/Experience/Education:
- 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a medium/high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations.
- Proven leadership with a servant leadership mindset.
- Relevant experience includes professional or co-op roles.
- Experience in Fabrication and/or Welding is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Self-driven and ambitious leader with coaching, mentoring, and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong problem-solving skills, encouraging proactive thinking and solutions.
- Basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban, and Lean manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
- Stooping, bending, standing for long periods, manual dexterity, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
