Job description

The Supervisor manages the operation of the electrical assembly team, this position is located in Droitwich Spa, with possible travel to customer sites

In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:

GENERAL MANAGEMENT

  • Full responsibility for all Production areas
  • Management of assembly team members and sub-contractors
  • Liaise between Project Managers and shop floor staff
  • Cost effective allocation of labour and resources
  • Co-operation with other Supervisors to ensure on time completion of build schedule
  • Identify and evaluate training needs of team members and conduct
  • Implement and maintain departmental multi-skilling system (Skills Matrix)
  • Agree and achieve annual departmental operating plan objectives (TDCs) chair the 3- and 6-month probation reviews
  • Lead Efficiency improvements and projects
  • Operations costs management
  • Capacity resourcing including overtime approval
  • To be responsible for NCR submissions
  • Completion of quality control inspection at various stages of construction (Field Eagle)
  • Weekly consolidation of paperwork including labour and space plans.
  • Lead daily shop floor tier board meetings
  • On time completion of plant room fit outs, cladding, and finishing to the quality standards required
  • Update and maintenance of Company Gas Safe registration
  • Liaise with material controller
  • EEU Manage team

ELECTRICAL MANAGEMENT

  • On time completion of plant room fit outs in line with client’s specifications and to the requirements of all standards
  • Ensure electrical compliance of Armstrong products and maintain electrical test certs
  • NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor -represent the Company during annual NICEIC inspections ensuring that all enrolment requirements are present, up-to date and correct.
  • Act as the nominated NICEIC Qualified Supervisor for all electrical installation activities, working closely with the Operations Manager (Principal Duty Holder) to ensure competence, training and supervision of employees engaged in electrical work.
  • Verify installation quality and adherence to BS 7671 (18th Edition) and Armstrong standards; oversee inspection, testing and Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) processes; maintain accurate and up-to-date NICEIC records; and manage annual NICEIC assessments and site visit preparations.
  • Conduct inspections on incoming electrical components, in-process builds and final assemblies; develop and maintain inspection and test procedures; investigate defects using root cause analysis and drive corrective actions; collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to resolve compliance issues; monitor and report on electrical quality KPIs; deliver toolbox talks; and support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain electrical quality and compliance documentation, including test reports, audit trails and training records; drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical quality, efficiency and safety; support development of internal electrical standards and policies; manage project-specific documentation, including in-stage inspections, goods-in checks, pre-delivery inspections and snag punch lists; ensure timely completion and verification of NICEIC certification; and maintain and validate project folder documentation and certificates.

ELECTRICAL ADMINISTRATION / HR

  • Produce and issue all relevant electrical certification prior to delivery

GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Adhere and police our Health & Safety Policy
  • Efficient organisation of factory by ensuring all staff maintain good housekeeping standards adhering to 5S

GENERAL QUALITY

  • Complete Pre-Delivery Inspection Report
  • Ensure plant rooms are despatched defect free
  • Ensure all systems are fully tested before despatch
