Job description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day process operations, ensuring the smooth coordination of raw materials, fuels, and maintenance activities. This is a key leadership role focused on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across production and maintenance functions.

Purpose of the Role

As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the coordination of inputs and outputs in the production process, working closely with Shift Managers and leading both direct and indirect staff. You’ll ensure that all maintenance plans are executed effectively, and that safety, environmental, and quality standards are upheld across your area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety, Environment, Quality & Maintenance: Implement and audit safety, environmental, and quality management systems, identify and resolve non-conformances and risks, lead SAFE inspections, talks, and checks, ensure maintenance plans are fully actioned, and set and maintain high housekeeping standards
  • Supervision & Team Development: Supervise day process activities and support shift mechanical staff, motivate and develop staff, identify training needs, participate in safety and operational meetings, prepare monthly performance reports, and support cost reduction initiatives
  • Operations & Process Optimisation: Identify and remove bottlenecks to maximise plant capacity, communicate performance metrics, develop running plans with allowances for maintenance, manage holiday/sickness cover and safety competence assessments, diagnose inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions

Education/Qualification

Ideally extensive knowledge of cement manufacturing (or similar) process and preferably a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience. Proficiency in PC-based software applications, particularly SAP, MS office and other applicable applications. Mechanical engineering background
