Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate production teams to ensure output meets quality and scheduling requirements.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and long-term production planning, ensuring resources and materials are allocated effectively.
  • Monitor production areas and processes, resolving issues in real time to minimize downtime.
  • Cover for the Operations Manager during periods of absence, maintaining continuity of operations and reporting as necessary.
  • Ensure team adherence to Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to production staff, including task delegation and on-the-job training.
  • Support in implementing and maintaining continuous improvement initiatives across production.
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely dispatch.
  • Ensure accurate completion of production records, including batch documentation
  • Identity, escalate, and help resolve any deviations or production inefficiencies.
  • Support onboarding and training of new production staff.
  • Assist with stock level checks and raw material availability to avoid production delays.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in a supervisory role within a food production or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of production workflows, planning, and people management.

  • Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure, with good problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive and hands-on approach.

Flexible and adaptable, with a readiness to step into wider operational roles when needed.

  • Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and GMP is essential
