Qualifications

Job Description

To oversee and ensure the safe and efficient production operation at FDL Stafford, support Performance Excellence Lead whilst managing the interface between the processing, logistics and Maintenance. Provide proactive support to the Production Manager, deputising for them in their absence.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety: Ensure company safety, health & environmental procedures are followed. Ensure these are specifically applied and enforced by Shift superintendents in relation to those under their remit.
  • People Management: To manage and develop direct reports ensuring their quality of work, performance and motivation levels meet the required standards.
  • People Management: Ensure reports fully understand their own role and what is expected/required from them, providing support and guidance to ensure they achieve their own and the business objectives/results.
  • People Management: To ensure all employee relations and sickness absence issues are dealt with in accordance to FDL policies and procedures for direct reports.
  • People Management: To drive Performance Excellence within the manufacturing teams.
  • Following Performance excellence principles: To make optimum use of the equipment, people and resources available within their capabilities, providing pro-active leadership in all areas of the manufacturing operation.
  • Following Performance excellence principles: To review manufacturing performance with recommendations for improved efficiencies and reducing cost.
  • Following Performance excellence principles: To ensure procedures are in place that encourage efficient and safe working procedures, a productive environment and discretionary performance.
  • Following Performance excellence principles: Continually reviewing operation performance in terms of key performance indicators (KPI’s) and to action improvements when necessary.
  • Compliance Systems: Ensuring compliance with GMP, HACCP and Food Safety Policies.
  • Communication: To provide a centralised communication link between the production, commercial and logistics departments.
  • Communication: To maintain good communications between all levels of employees.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong people management skills.
  • Intermediate level in MS software packages including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Strong change management capabilities.

Education & Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Line Managerial experience with an appreciation of employee relations issues (Optional)
  • Good experience working with H&S in a manufacturing environment
