We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a manufacturing company based in Poole. They design and supply tools for the oil and gas industry. This is an opportunity to be part of a strong team. The role involves training and supporting machinists to develop their skills and, when needed, carrying out machine work.

Responsibilities Include

1. Supervise manufacturing staff and processes to ensure smooth workflow, providing technical assistance as needed.
2. Estimate times and costs for a wide range of components produced in the internal manufacturing facility.
3. Provide ongoing training to the production team.
4. Use Materials Resource Planning (MRP) system to load manufacturing and inspection capacity to meet tight deadlines.
5. Plan machine shop loading around staff holidays and sicknesses.
6. Communicate schedules to staff and ensure daily targets are met.
7. Purchase raw materials, tooling, and consumables to ensure smooth production flow.
8. Organize and schedule machine maintenance and annual servicing.
9. Train new staff and upskill existing team members to meet standards.
10. Ensure team works safely, reporting concerns to the Production Manager.
11. Maintain a clean and tidy work environment. Properly store and make accessible all materials, tools, gauges, and consumables.
12. Facilitate continuous improvement of activities, processes, and procedures.
13. Troubleshoot issues with machinists and inspectors as needed.

Person Skills

• Punctual and a good team player.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Manufacturing/production planning experience preferred.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, MRP, and scheduling systems.
• ISO 9001 experience.
• Responsible for ensuring that the HSE Management System is implemented within their operations.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday (ongoing 4-day week trial)
