Job Description for Site Supervisor
To ensure the safe and efficient operation of A1 Services, Manchester, M27 8BQ, on a day-to-day basis in conjunction with the Operations Manager and their team.
Health and Safety
- Ensure operations under your control comply with relevant statutory legislation, Safety Policy, and the company Safety, Health and Environment Management System.
- Assist the Operations Manager in ensuring procedures and systems comply with the Company Health, Safety, and Environment Management System.
- Lead by example in observing safety rules and using protective equipment and safety devices.
- Audit and complete sections of the daily inspection checklist as appropriate.
- Assist the Operations Manager in controlling contractors on site, including inspections of their plant and equipment and adherence to method statements and safe working practices.
- Ensure weekly inspections are carried out.
Customer and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all materials supplied to customers meet relevant specifications and that high-quality service is provided, following Quality Assurance systems.
- Ensure all delivered materials are quality-controlled and correctly segregated.
- Deal courteously with all visitors, including customers.
- Work closely with customers, weighbridge, and sales staff to establish reliable and efficient service.
- Promote the benefits of buying from A1 / Heidelberg Aggregates by providing quality service and products.
General Management
- Assist in purchasing spares, materials, and services cost-effectively.
- Assist the Operations Manager in completing Period End Profit Estimates, including stock returns, production & breakdown analysis, and expenditure data, in electronic format as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure servicing and repairs are carried out as scheduled.
- Maintain good working relationships and communication between management and employees, notifying the Operations Manager of any issues.
- Discuss training requirements with the Operations Manager and ensure all new employees receive induction and relevant training.
- Assist in preventing fraud.
- Maintain good relationships with neighbors and address complaints promptly.
- Ensure land, roads, and buildings within site boundaries are well-maintained and the site is tidy and presentable.
