Role Summary

RHI Magnesita is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead operations in our Press Room Department on second shift at our Canton, OH facility. This role is responsible for overseeing a team of approximately ten production employees, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with press machine setup, hydraulic systems, and mechanical operations, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

What You’ll Do

• Supervise daily operations in the Press Room, ensuring production goals are met.
• Conduct daily safety talks and enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Set up and monitor press machines, ensuring proper function and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and support hydraulic and mechanical systems as needed.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
• Coordinate with other departments including raw materials, packaging, shipping, and quality assurance.
• Maintain workflow by monitoring control points, equipment, and resources.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support LEAN manufacturing practices.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, union agreements, and quality expectations.
• Document and report production data and equipment issues.
• Foster a team-oriented, safety-first culture

What You Bring

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of press machine operations, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a union environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work second shift and flexible hours, including weekends if needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Technical background preferred; 4-year degree is a plus.
• Experience with refractory or ceramic products is a bonus.
