Job Description:

We are looking for a key individual to support the achievement of our client’s business goals by managing the Laser Department through effective team leadership. The role involves organizing efficient and quality production to meet schedules and customer specifications, maximizing productivity, profitability, and on-time delivery.

The role includes:

  • Planning and controlling production using equipment efficiently to meet customer requirements and maximize profitability.
  • Implementing and maintaining a machine maintenance program to maximize uptime, with weekly reporting on breakdowns.
  • Acting as the centre of excellence for printing, mailing, finishing, consolidation, scanning, and dispatch, including running daily production meetings.
  • Controlling waste and overtime to ensure departmental profitability.
  • Coaching, training, and mentoring team members for high standards and career development.
  • Motivating staff to maintain high customer relations and quality standards.
  • Exceeding targeted dispatch metrics set by the business.
  • Using OEE, 5S, and Lean methodologies to improve performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring equipment is operated efficiently and staff skills are maintained and documented.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork and reports accurately and timely.
  • Managing special requests from customers and liaising with relevant departments to meet SLAs.
  • Reacting proactively to incidents, ensuring corrective actions are taken, and maintaining communication across teams.
  • Performing other duties as directed by the line manager.
The Person:

Education/Qualifications: Good education to GCSE level.

Experience: Supervisory experience with 3+ years working within a manufacturing environment.
