Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to lead the Laser Department, supporting our client's business objectives through effective team management. The role involves organizing efficient and quality production to meet schedules and customer specifications, aiming to maximize productivity, profitability, and on-time delivery.
- Plan and control production by optimally utilizing equipment and selecting the most economical methods, ensuring maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Implement and oversee a machine maintenance program to maximize uptime, maintaining detailed logs of breakdowns for weekly reporting.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers, acting as a center of excellence for printing, mailing, finishing, consolidation, scanning, and dispatch; conduct daily production meetings to address risks and mitigation strategies.
- Control waste and overtime to ensure departmental profitability aligns with budgets.
- Coach, train, and develop team members to achieve high standards and support their career growth.
- Motivate staff to maintain high customer relations and uphold quality standards.
- Strive to surpass targeted missed dispatches as set by the business.
- Utilize OEE, 5S, and Lean methodologies to enhance performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all equipment to ensure efficient operation, collaborating with the training department.
- Keep the skills matrix updated and ensure all relevant paperwork and reports are completed accurately and timely.
- Respond proactively to special requests from customers, including collections and deliveries.
- React promptly to incidents, liaising with Client Services and Compliance to meet or exceed internal SLAs, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain constant communication between print, finishing, and other teams.
- Perform any additional duties as directed by your line manager.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, be methodical, detail-oriented, and capable of analyzing information to make informed decisions.

Education/Qualifications:
Good education to GCSE level.
Experience:
- Supervisory experience.
- Over 3 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment.
