Production Shift Manager Manufacturing

£36,000 - £37,700 + Overtime (1.25x Rate)

County Durham

4-on-4-off (Rotating Days & Nights)

Lets be honest. Managing a shift in a manufacturing plant isn't for the faint-hearted. It's fast, it's full-on, and things don't always go to plan. Here's What You'll Be Doing

1. Running a multi-discipline production unit: thermoforming, extrusion, granulation, decoration, and warehousing.
2. Leading a team of 25+ (including agency staff) and keeping production on track.
3. Managing output, quality, and wastage—making sure things get done right, first time.
4. Getting hands-on when needed—because you're a leader, not just a delegator.
5. Keeping health & safety at the core of everything, while ensuring compliance with BRC standards.

What You'll Need

1. At least 3 years in a Production Shift Manager, Production Supervisor, or similar role in high-volume manufacturing.
2. Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment.
3. A natural problem solver—someone who can think on their feet and make quick decisions.
4. Ideally, an ILM Level 3 or 5 qualification (or similar) in Leadership & Management.
5. Manufacturing background—FMCG/Food/Beverage.
