Job Description:

Production Shift Manager

Food Manufacturing

Northamptonshire

You're either good at leading people, or you're not.

If you’re the former — and by “good,” I mean someone who can spot a problem, fix it, and bring the team along for the ride without turning into David Brent — then keep reading.

This business is looking for a Department Manager to run the show on the late shift in one of their busiest food production departments. It's not a boring job, and it's definitely not one for clipboard-huggers.

You’ll be leading around 70-80 people. Not from behind a desk, but actually out there, where the food meets the tech and things need to keep moving. You’ll need to make decisions, spot inefficiencies, coach people, and improve processes.

And no — you don’t need to be a Lean Six Sigma Jedi. But if you’ve got ideas on how to run a tight ship, reduce waste, and actually implement them without a PowerPoint, they’ll probably love you.

They’re not looking for someone to babysit. They want a leader. Someone who knows how to get people performing at their best and isn’t afraid of tough conversations.

Ideally, you've done this kind of thing in food manufacturing before — so if you've managed a large operational team in a fast-paced environment, they'll want to hear from you.

What’s in it for you?

Aside from the obvious stuff like a proper salary, there’s 6 weeks holiday, various discounts, a subsidised canteen (hot food, not limp sandwiches), and solid career progression. Also: parking. Free.

And yes, it’s a late shift. But if you’re the right person, there’s flexibility in it. No 3am starts or vampire hours unless that’s your thing.

The Process:

There’ll be a video chat first, then an on-site tour and a competency interview. Nothing scary, no trick questions — just a proper conversation to see if this is right for both of you.

So — if you’re the kind of person who can actually lead (not just “manage”), and you’ve got the energy, resilience, and know-how to handle a fast-moving operation, we should talk.

No buzzwords. No fluff. Just a proper job, with real impact.
