Job Description

We are recruiting a Shift Lead within the Production Department at our Market Drayton Butter Plant.

The purpose of the role is to enable the team to deliver targets and continuously improve performance by coaching and developing our people.

Responsibilities
  • Creating and delivering development plans.
  • Coaching front line team members, enabling them to solve problems.
  • Ensuring activities are aligned with overall business objectives.
  • People management, including performance reviews, development, coaching, and handling employee relations issues.
  • Collaborating with other teams to improve our business.
  • Applying Operational Excellence principles and tools, coaching the team accordingly.
Key Tasks
  • Creating and delivering development plans.
  • Creating succession pathways within and across the organization.
  • High-level problem-solving and facilitation skills.
  • Visiting workstations to identify issues (go, look, see).
  • Coaching team members to solve problems.
  • Using PDCA techniques to resolve problems thoroughly and promptly.
  • Encouraging the team to seek out improvement opportunities and lead operational excellence projects.
  • Owning and delivering operational excellence initiatives, recognized for these efforts.
  • Identifying waste and opportunities for improvement in all activities.
Learning & Development
  • Site and department induction.
  • Operational Excellence Advanced.
  • All Dairy Technical Competency Workshops.
  • Train the Trainer (including coaching and facilitation).
  • People Essentials.
  • Developing Teams Using Pathfinder.
