About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person to join our Production Team at our vegetable plant in Ashburton.

This is a full-time role, working on 12-hour shifts, 4 ON 4 OFF roster, Day or Night shift.

Your pay rate is $29.70/hr.

The Production Senior Operator holds responsibility for overseeing equipment operation, conducting essential quality, safety, and plant checks to meet production and customer requirements within established business guidelines.

In the event of the Production Lead's absence, the Production Senior Operator assumes accountability for filling in, supervising the manufacturing process to achieve production goals, upholding quality standards, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Who are you?

You are an experienced Operator with Food factory experience. You have a positive attitude, enjoy working hard and are honest, reliable, and willing to learn.

For this role, you’ll need:

  • 3 years of experience in a production environment preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate the work of a team effectively.
  • Computer skills – intermediate plus across all MS programs.
  • Strong English speaking and writing skills.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to Essential Health and Safety Requirements (EHSR) excellence
  • Self-motivated
  • Being proactive and flexible in approach to job tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow strict procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
