We are looking for a Production Scheduler who will work within the planning department and be responsible for supporting the organisation’s production schedule, customer delivery and schedule performance according to fluctuating demand, trials, quality, service standards and integrating these into SAP. You will liaise with key stakeholders from multiple functions, including Operations, Engineering, Sales and Procurement to ensure that production is completed as efficiently as possible. You will backfill for the planning department in periods of holiday and absence and support furnace planning.

Key responsibilities as our Production Scheduler:

  • Short, medium, and long-term planning
  • Improving customer service (OTIF - On Time In Full)
  • Material progression control
  • Communicate execution of the plan

What you will be doing as our Production Scheduler:

  • Effectively manage procurement and stock levels of raw materials
  • Liaise daily with the Production Managers, Engineering and Supply Chain team on materials and machinery availability, treating these teams as your customer.
  • Short-Term - To produce, communicate and measure daily production planning and scheduling plans. Advanced excel skills required in order to off-line plan as an interim measure while the planning function within SAP is being developed.
  • Medium Term - Working on the longer-range planning process to include known requirements for customers, production, R&D etc. Integral part of SAP development and full MRP/ERP system integration.
  • Long Term - Acting as an integral part of the S&OP (Sales and Operating Planning) team agreeing a plan for the outer years.
  • Coordinate weekly national and international shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
  • To analyse and review lead times to reflect actual manufacturing processes with opportunities to reduce cycle times.
  • To ensure data accuracy is maintained through regular housekeeping of data. Measuring planning performance accuracy. Accurate OEE% assumptions/data is key.
  • To produce department KPI’s where applicable.
  • To support and undertake associated projects with the relevant stakeholders - stock, planning and production, master data actions etc.
  • To work closely with the procurement team carrying out forecasting and inventory analysis for future purchasing decisions.
  • To contribute to CI initiatives to enhance throughput, product and service levels to our customer.
  • To determine and implement appropriate planning processes within the business.
  • Improve significantly the customer’s experience with product delivery requirements
  • Actively support and work on the integration of the planning systems into SAP. An integral part of the team to further develop into a true MRP/ERP system.
  • Actively on the shopfloor to engage with the wider operations team and to validate the production status. WIP validation for instance.

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Production Scheduler:

  • Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques ideally gained in the Automotive industry.
  • At least 5 years or more previous production planning / scheduling experience gained within a low/medium volume, high complexity manufacturing environment, along with proven success in improving processes.
  • Experience using SAP
  • Knowledge and use of MRP system

Salary: £40,000

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 2.30pm
