Job description

We are recruiting for a Production SAP Operative for a long-established manufacturer in Lymington, Hampshire.

Hours: The "Mix department" position is day shift only, while the "Extrusion department" position operates on a rotating weekly schedule:

  • Mix: Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:00, Fri 08:00-13:00
  • Extrusion: Week 1 Mon-Thurs 06:00-14:00, Fri 06:00-11:00; Week 2 Mon-Thurs 14:00-22:00, Fri 11:00-16:00 (or starting 2pm-10pm depending on rota)

Salary: £13.58 per hour

Duration: Initially a 7-month contract, potentially permanent based on performance.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Production SAP operative reports to the Department Manager (Mix or Extrusion) and is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt of kits from the goods-in Kitting Team. The role involves ensuring materials meet production order requirements, raising NCRs for discrepancies, and communicating with the goods-in team to rectify issues both physically and systemically.

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Maintain the integrity of all kits on the extruder floor and in the Mix area; act as the point of contact for additional material requests by the field experts.
  • Record requests for additional materials and reasons.
  • Process SAP transactions for additional materials caused by wastage or processing issues.
  • Investigate material variance issues weekly, generate reports, and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with field experts to ensure SAP transactions are performed to standard.
  • Engage in SAP/Operations compliance activities, including acceptance and inspection of kits, issuing kits, booking and investigating additional materials, and ensuring full compliance of transactions.
  • Lead weekly/monthly stock takes and cycle counts in the production area.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 5 years experience in a fast-paced production environment with SAP.
  • Expertise in Stores and SAP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
  • The role requires being active on your feet for approximately 70% of the working day.
